Boston College handles BYU
What happened?
I will say the defense played to exactly the level I expected, they held Boston College to 20 points. The problem came in that I expected the offense to SCORE. That is still being worked out, apparently.
Ultimately what happened was that BYU could not muster the finishes to their drives. They moved the ball fairly effectively, getting into the blue zone at least 3 times. Unfortunately each time we got in the blue zone we pushed ourselves right back out with unnecessary penalties and costly mistakes.
BYU Team StatisticsFirst downs — BYU 22Rushes, yards — BYU 16-41Passing yards — BYU 330
Att-Comp-Int — BYU 60-41-0Total offensive plays — BYU 76Total net yards — BYU 338

The good: There is no denying that we threw the ball well, we moved the ball and had no turnovers.
The bad: Where was the running game? More important, where were the touchdowns? You know you are in trouble when you have almost enough penalty yards to cover the length of the field. Ouch. Blown call, not going for it on 4th and 3 at the 30, and punting it?
Upside Potential: New Head Coach, new Offensive Coordinator, the play calling will relax, the wisdom will come, the offense once it is established should be very good at moving the ball and should be capable of scoring up to 5 or 6 times a game.
Next game:
EILL – we better be in a position to take advantage of our size and speed and lay a hurt on our Easter Illinois friends or there will be some serious questions about the suitability of the current staff and players.
