BYU to Become QB-U Again?

The Deseret News is running an interesting article about the current state of BYU QBs here [deseretnews.com].

I find it really interesting just what a mess that we were left in with players deciding to leave the program and going through a few different coaches. It looks like if we can weather the storm that will hit next year when we don't have a seasoned QB we should be well back on track to maintaining a good QB flow.

One of the most interesting statistics from the article?

Age gap

A look at the QBs in BYU's program heading into 2006 fall camp:

Name Class Status

John Beck Sr. Current starter
Jason Beck Sr. Current backup
Jacob Bower Fr. Coming off mission
Sam Doman Fr. Coming off mission
Max Hall Fr. Transfer, off mission
James Lark Fr. High school QB in '05
Two senior QBs and 4 Freshmen. It looks like Max Hall will be the heir apparant for next year, having had a red-shirt year at Arizona already, and then this year behind the Beck's, we can also safely assume that some of the other Frosh QBs will serve missions two, giving us a few nice prospects a couple years down the road.

I hope Bronco can really work this out.
