Cougar Recruits Named Tops
Scout.com has released their Northwest top 100, according to their website:
Today the Scout.com Northwest Hot 100 rolls out it's evaluations of the best of the best. We've broken down film, we've hit the combines, we've gone to the high schools in order to find out the top players in the region. Onto the evaluations!Where do BYU recruits fall on this list?
Quarter Back
Ranked #1
1. Jason Munns (BYU) - A big sturdy frame, sets in there and delivers much like a tradional pocket-passer would. A comparison to Drew Bledsoe at his stage would be pretty much dead-on. Has some escapability, but is much better eluding as going downfield as opposed to side-to-side. Strength helps him get out of dicey situations.

Tight End
Ranked #5
Braden Brown
Known as a two-way star that could either play tight end or defensive end in college, but projects on offense because of his athleticism, great hands and ability to create mismatches in open space. A cerebral player that is also a big competitor, Brown should continue to grow and give himself a great chance at becoming as good with blocking as he is right now in the passing game. Also a leader that knows how to win, a great intangible to have.
Ranked #8
Kaneakua Friel

Wide Receiver
Ranked #1
Marcus Mathews
The consummate 'big' receiver that is so en vogue nowadays, Mathews combines great size with precise route-running and the ability to create separation from defenders that makes him the premier receiver in the Northwest. Does not have the top end speed of a Mike Williams or Dwayne Jarrett, but has every other intangible a big D1-bound receiver needs to make an instant impact in college.
Ranked #4
Scotty Ebert
Has very good speed and possesses the type of athleticism that will allow him to make an impact on either offense or defense, but receiver should be his first destination at BYU. Has soft hands and will catch anything that comes his way. He can take a hit, but needs to get stronger and bigger to handle the contact at the Division-1 level.

According to Scout.com, BYU is projected to have the number 1 QB, the number 1 & 4 receivers and the number 5 & 8 tight ends in the NorthWest. This is turning out to be a very exciting recruiting year.
