I guarantee a loss to ND. GT is all but a lock for a loss. I now think there is a good chance we lose to OSU, too. I think USU will end up being a close win. I hope so. I will note that our D should keep us in all those games. I think GT is the offense best likely to expose our D. They are so yewting fast. OSU may also make us look a little worse than we've been showing.

NMSU, Idaho, ISU and SJST are all lock wins. I think we also beat Hawaii. That gets us to 6 for sure and likely 7.

The bowl game could get interesting. I think we'll play Nevada, AFA or SDSU but that a rematch with BSU won't be out of the question. I'd like a chance at them again.

I hope we can get Hill ready this year for what looks right now to be a bloodbath in 2013. Go Cougars!

This will be BYU's best year under Bronco. It is a talented roster (by BYU standards) and most of the best players are actually upper classmen!!!! We haven't had that since '09.
Compare and Contrast
Star Power
Start with QB, TEs, RB, FB, WR, OL in that order.

QB - winningest ever Vs injury prone, fiesty, weaker arm guy who can run - advantage Max Hall
TE - seems like 2009 still had Pitta and George IIRC vs who knows what 2012 has
FB - Tonga or whomever it was that year Vs Potential
RB - Harvey Unga va a guy that hopes to be a mini version of Unga
WR- Was Collie still there? No. 2012 does match up or exceed.
OL - Serviceable Vs Who knows what - possibly about even at best
Easier vs Tougher schedule re # times underdog on the road

Hopefully 2012 brings some pleasant surprises.

Terrance Alletto - Still on team
Braden Brown Didn't find any info on NFL draft or FA contract with a google search
Terence Brown - FA signed with Miami Dolphins
Andrew Crawford - Freshman in 09 can't find any information after that
Ryan Freeman - Didn't find any info on NFL draft or FA contract with a google search
Braden Hansen - Currently a Senior
Ryan Mulitalo - Redshirted in 09 no information since
Austin Nielsen - Junior in 2011 not on 2012 roster
Houston Reynolds - Still on team
Matt Reynolds - FA signed with Carolina Panthers
Jason Speredon - FA signed with Arizona Cardinals
Marco Thorson - Didn't find any info on NFL draft or FA contract with a google search
Fono Vakalahi - Left team this year
RJ Willing - Didn't find any info on NFL draft or FA contract with a google search

Still on team this year: 3
No information after graduation or after 2009 season or left team: 9
NFL as Free Agents:3
I was confusing the 2008 roster with the 2009, the one with T Bright, D reynolds, Rey Feinga, and a couple guys mentioned in 2009 starting that year also.

The good ole days :)

Position 2009 2012

FB Bryan Kariya Zed Mendenhall
If I'm remembering right, in 2009, our FB wasn't Kariya, it was Manase Tonga. I don't think any FB we have this year will be as good as Tonga.
I couldn't remember and the only depth chart I could find from that year was from Scout.com which did not have Tonga on the roster.
Tonga was a late season add one year because of grades qualifications. I can't remember if that was in 09 or not...

2009 Depth Chart from http://cfn.scout.com/2/878350.html" http://www.ksl.com/?sid=21663468&nid=498&title=cougar-tracks-camp-cougar-day-9" class="postlink">http://www.ksl.com/?sid=21663468&nid=49 ... ugar-day-9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Personally I'd take the 2012 team for offense, defense and special teams, though there are some positions I would take the 2009 players over the current players they are fewer than the ones I prefer current players.
ON that list the only players I would trade are on offense and IMO there wouldn't be many of them. IMO only QB TE (both of them). On defense I might consider trading for Rich but IMO Sorenson is going to make everyone forget about Rich this year. He was pretty good last year coming right off of a mission having not played that position before.
