FWIW I don't buy into any of that blue turf hurts our ability to make plays, any more than if Michigan State was "blending in" on their field. I've played on it, (All of the high schools in Boise did in the late 80's when I was there - I don't think that they still do but I'm not sure) and the field color does nothing to change the game at the field level. (from the stands it's a bit different)
It's enough of an issue that the MWC prohibits Boise from wearing all blue at home for in-conference games.

First of all, we all know that the MWC is always rational and reasonable - right?
Second, it was before, but my recollection was that when BSU rejoined (without ever leaving) the MWC, that condition was removed. At least that's how I remember it.

I think that looking down on the field from the ESPN camera does kind of blend in, but if I'm a player on the field, meh I dunno.

Good analyses.
I'm in a hurry a lazy but someone should look up the size/weight of BSUs Dline. That will be the telling stat. Like Az, I suspect that they are fairly fast but much lighter than some big Dlines we have faced. If this is the case we will be able to run the ball and ball control thru the game. We don't need a long game but it Willmore be there for the taking as their LBs will crowd the box.
Which leaves the line factor in my mind of our pass D. Can we slow them down? Can we get to their QB With our aggressive blitz schemes and can our DBs hold.
So, count field position in the mix. If we win that battle, I think we win the game Bc our D looks a little like BM's bend but don't break. Which , if we make them have long drives ,force them to pass, pick a few passes, we Willmore win this game.

Spiff reports:
BYU has held three of seven opponents below their passing offense averages.

This is what has me worried about BSU. Good passing teams are a real challenge for this year's D. If they give up lots on passing on Thursday, then BSU will look good to win this.

I'm hoping that the pass rush reverses this trend ... but our pass rush hasn't been particularly effective, though I think it may have improved lately.
