It could very well be the difference between 4-8 or 5-7.

The problems that caused us to lose to the utes were still present. utah would destroy that Tenn team. BYU is not a good football team. They aren't well coached, you can see that in their play. Luckily, TENN also is a bad football team and BYU's persistence finally got the better of them. I am happy with the win, I am dis-satisfied with this team.

If the Utah game is in your head so bad you can't enjoy a win over a SEC team in the way that all worked out, I truly feel sorry for you. What a miserable decade this must have been for you.

Tennessee (Sagarin #86) and Vanderbilt (Sagarin #146) are awesome because they get pummelled by Alabama/Auburn/LSU every year while wearing "SEC" patches.

My point stands. If you can't enjoy a win, especially where it wasn't expected, something is wrong. I feel badly for you. Take it if it applies. Whatever....

I enjoyed it. It was a really fun game to watch. I watched the Georgia State game over my wife’s shoulder at a restaurant on date night, so I had different expectations... like that there would be more blitzing and options lol. (I’m glad they diddnt run Wilson too much)

After the game I think through it. I have big problems with the calls and game plan on both sides of the ball.

Some I don’t blame them for... but I really hate late game punts. If a single 1st down ends the game, I’d rather go for it, but it seems to be the coaching conventional wisdom, so whatever.

The defense isn’t stopping the run very well and they had zero QB pressure on way too many plays. A decent QB will kill BYU every time with this system. We went from the innovative Bronco defenses to sitting in a base defense most plays.

I’m not a fan of Grimes. I hope the next OC has successfully coordinator experience. I’m sure it has been hashed to death but not giving Ty’Son the ball on the 3rd and 1 ruins the entire point of the conservative ball control offense they are trying to run. I have the feeling scoring 13 in regulation against Tennessee won’t look good by the end of the season.

And to the BYU fans who can't take criticisms and critiques of the team - this is the Internet and there will be other view points. Yes, let's enjoy the win. I'm glad there are so many blue goggled fans. But I for one enjoy seeing both sides. I'm an analyst and I too see this for what it is: a miracle win over a terrible team that is in a good conference.

I don’t see that many blue goggled fans around. There are very few who are happy with where this program is right now.

That's a bit of a non sequitor.

When did I ever say I didn't enjoy the win? We were cheering and throwing chips and tackling each other as the last minute and overtimes played out. I definitely enjoyed the win.

However, the fact that I liked my dessert doesn't mean that I can't complain about the sh*t sandwich I was forced to eat to get to dessert. I enjoyed dessert Saturday night, but that does not erase what came before.

If you don't like opinions and takes that don't make you warm and fuzzy, go ahead and curate a cotton candy and rainbows Twitter-feed to do that. You can keep your fake piety and pity.

We weren’t there to see that. We can’t see the context unless it is provided. In the virtual game watch party the only thing we saw was “BYU is a db brain fart away from being 0-2.”

No one on here is being complete cotton candy and rainbows. I said we’ve got a ways to go before we can be a good or great team. However, your comment comes off as a complete wet blanket when no other context is provided.

Regarding the specific comment itself, it’s a bit disingenuous because it takes away the credit Micah Simon and Wilson deserve for taking advantage of that broken down play.

You misinterpreted my response to think that I was saying BYU did everything perfect. I was just pointing out that football plays don’t happen in a vacuum. The db made a mistake, but it still took some incredible things to happen by the BYU players to take advantage of that mistake.

The db even had deeper help, but Micah broke a tackle to make what may have been a meaningless downfield completion into something that propelled us into overtime.

Again, when the only thing you come on here to say is negative and putting a negative spin on one of the most exciting plays, it does not look like you enjoyed the win.

I’m glad you had a good time at the end watching the game. I wish the team was better. I’m glad you’re here on the board. Please keep posting.
