BYU invited to the Las Vegas Bowl
For the first time ever, Brigham Young University has been invited to represent the Mountain West Conference at the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl.
BYU who is coming off their first winning season since 2001 is ranked 2nd place in the Mountain West Conference at 5 – 3, and 6 and 5 overall. It is rookie head coach Bronco Mendenhall’s first trip to a bowl game as a head coach.
BYU is a natural fit for the Las Vegas bowl, having a strong history of having fans travel to Vegas and a large number of local fans in Las Vegas.
BYU’s opponent remains to be seen, it may be a team from the PAC10, if enough teams qualify for bowl games. Otherwise it could be an at large bid from any number of conferences including the WAC, Sunbelt or other conference.
