Re: Washington = Michigan replay?
That's a reasonable analysis, but why didn't the Wisconsin game go that way?cougarapologist wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 11:22 am ...
In short, neither Washington nor Michigan did anything complicated scheme-wise, they just let their superior athletes play straight up, which we simply could not match for any significant amount of time.

Washington = Michigan replay?
Anyone else struck by the similarities of this game and the Michigan game a few years ago? I think it's worth looking at: it's early in the season, BYU appears to have a reasonably good team, the defense seemed stellar at times, the offense could use some work but hey they're good enough, surely the...

Re: Expectations for the Washington game?
The Huskies' offense and punting units haven't been doing their defensive counterparts any favors. Washington ranks 97th nationally and 11th in the Pac-12 in opponents' starting field position, meaning its opponents need to cover less ground to get into position to score. On average, opponents are ...

Re: Why are Vegas and Sagarin disrespecting the BYU Defense?
Don't forget Tonga. Scouts are real high on him now. True True. There are many players that made noteable plays against Wisconsin, but the thing is they all look like they are just doing their everyday thing. It doesn't look like an aberration or unusual effort on a play by play basis. As for the o...

Re: Why are Vegas and Sagarin disrespecting the BYU Defense?
I have watched both the ute and the ASU husky games and I can tell you that the Huskies defense is more like Cal's than Wisconsin's... I actually hope you are right. I expect that Grimes understands this, and he will call a different game with more off-tackle tries-or something that plays to the st...

Why are Vegas and Sagarin disrespecting the BYU Defense?
I don't how the game is going to go in Seattle, but the only scenarios I can imagine where BYU loses to Washington by 17 points are those where BYU scores no more than a single touchdown. If you think about that for more than 3 seconds, you get really tempted to lay some money down. Consider: 1. BYU...

Would Bronco have beat Wisconsin
If you are one of those, like me, who have become a mild UVa fan in the past three years, perhaps you had this same thought this past week: could Bronco have led BYU to a win in Camp Randall? My conclusion: I doubt it. The biggest reason is that if Bronco were here then we’d still have Anae and Reyn...

Are the Aggies BYU's greatest threat in 2018?
I want to assume that BYU's play against Wisconsin was no fluke. The fact that Kalani publically honored the strength and condition staff, and may players echoed this praise, is an important piece of evidence that BYU might actually have a sustainable advantage. This year feels different. It's like ...
