Re: 1-2 starts is the new norm for BYU

Rob Morris said on the big show yesterday that it is one thing to know what you want your identity to be - but it is another thing to arrive at that identity. That is probably the best statement on the matter. I see the difference, and I don't think BYU has arrived at an offensive identity.

Re: What's Your Alternative to GFGH?

Lark stunk. It took SDSU one game of film to completely shut him down. BYU's bread and butter has always been a QB who could efficiently throw the football. Right now BYU is now on year four of not having one. As for the marathon comparison, you're correct. Anae used the same comparison. He said th...

Re: 1-2 starts is the new norm for BYU

I don't think the offense lacks identity. I've seen that thrown around the last few days. The offense clearly knows what they want to do. They want to play at an extremely fast pace. The problem isn't the lack of an identity. The problem isn't that they don't know what they want to do. The problem ...

Re: Personnel Decisions are part of the problem

Taysom has been bad. But drops are hurting us again. Guys are not making tough contested catches to help him. His passing is an issue for sure and his accuracy does need to improve, but guys gotta make plays regardless,andWR/TE just aren't. And some of them are missing on routine plays. I question ...

Re: 1-2 starts is the new norm for BYU

I can handle 1-2 starts provided I feel good about the general direction of the program. This is the fourth year now where offensive futility is taking its toll. This is also the fourth year in a row where the offense lacks an identity. To suggest we are a dual threat offense is to suggest we believ...

Taysom Hill and YAC

Based upon the body of evidence for Taysom, I really wish there was some statistical evaluation of Yards After Catch and QB Accuracy. It felt like Taysom threw some catchable balls, but that the adjustment to make the catch really reduced the opportunity for YAC. I am hoping that Hill is not an iter...

Re: Perspective for Cougar Nation

I think cougar fans can be patient...but I think the counterpoint would be that the past three years of offensive futility has already taxed the patience. I am certain the passage of time is making me think more optimistically about the offense...but make no mistake, I am not sure I have seen a bett...

Re: Jason Munns = #1 Going into Spring Ball

I'll step forward. Munns was recruited by Anae out of HS. They were high enough on him at one point to think he could do what Anae wanted. EVERY QB is a complete unknown. NONE of them has really been given a chance to show what they can. Hill got starters reps for all of two weeks last year. Olsen ...

Re: Brandon Doman interview

I really appreciate Brandon. He is a good man. One of the tough things about BYU is that whenever changes are being made, it is an unfortunate experience for high quality people. I wish Brandon the best. I was hoping he would be retained as the quarterback coach - something that he said he wanted to...

Re: New coaching hires

I spoke with a family member of one of the possible coaching candidates in attempt to get any info to pass along. Although this is a second hand account what I was told was somewhat disturbing to me. He said that Bronco is sending his bro-in-law tape and having him break it down, this is a good sig...
