From where I sait, beating a #1 team by 1 pt is good enough, let along by 7. beating a #3 team is good enough. It is not about trouncing top competition, it is about winning. PERIOD. Beck to Harline. Just 3 years ago. Maybe not the "killer" instinct, but the will to play until the last play. You could say the same about 4th and 18, the next year. I think leadership and player(s) stepping up, taking the team on his/their back and gutting out a win is something that can...

great post. the scary thing of this...is if the linebackers aren't making the tackles...and we KNOW it's not the d-line making these tackles...that means we're depending more on our safeties right? Quantifying something that we already knew

(I posted this on another board) BYU under Bronco's 3-4 scheme is as only as good as their linebackers. 2006- The linebackers had 49.6% of all tackles made by BYU. The defense had 5.27 tackles for loss per game. They finished 38th in total defense and 10th in scoring defense. 2007- The LBs had 50.5%...
