Re: Is this good news or no news?
Good point on the money on TV deals. Still, as an AQ conf, the mtn and by extension the MWC schools would be in a better position to renegotiate contracts. But really, until we get a better relationship with ESPN (like the mtn selling/extorting them for the rights to some of the big matchups but kee...

Re: Effects of Unga's departure?
From what I heard most suspensions tend to be for 2 semesters. A times, one. Spring/summer counts as 1 semester. And since Harvey dropped out prior to finals, that might count as the 2nd semester as he gets no credits for it as a result. I have no idea how it works. All I know is that Bronco's comm...

Re: Is this good news or no news?
Question is, what happens if Utah and TCU get recruited away? How does that affect things? Because those things are looking very possible right now, in the next 2 years or so. Just in time for the BCS evaluation period to end, no less. There isn't going to be any expansion this off-season. Expansio...

Sam Bradford, #1 overall pick goes to St Louis Rams. Ain't that the same dude we laid out in the first half of the first game of the season? Seriously? # 1 overall pick and hasn't done anything noteworthy for 16 months? Then Gerald McCoy gets the #3? He's good, sure, but he also got stood up by our ...

ESPN reporting that the BcS is finally reporting the formula. Sort of. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5126561 The BCS uses three criteria that measure conference strength over a four-year period. The criteria are the ranking of the highest-ranked team in the final BCS standings; the fin...

Re: Three Best Health Care Reform Ideas
A scattershot of thoughts: A public system should: cover low-probability, high cost events. Work backwards down the probability/cost spectrum to the point where the polity (median voter) believes the cost in taxes is too high--probably somewhere just below emergency appendectomies. A public health c...

Students. Athletes.
Just saw the school posted on having the most conference academic honorees for football at 32. Nice. http://www.byucougars.com/Filing.jsp?ID=13455 But I also saw that Air Force had a measly 13. I'm surprised. Do we really have smarter athletes than the academy, are A's easier to come by at the Y tha...

Re: 2010: Starting Unranked
Regardless of what Schlabach's view may be of what the polls are supposed to reflect , it's clear that in his eyes BYU still does not have a top 25 program. Even after being among the top 5 winningest programs and ranked over each of the last 4 years.
