Re: Who is the new coach?
149 schools have made the tournament since BYU has made the NCAA tournament. 108 schools have won a game in the tournament since BYU has won one. 52 schools have made the Sweet 16 since BYU made the Sweet 16. 117 schools have at least 1 Sweet 16 since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985. 74 ...

Re: Article on GCU
I'm so biased because my dad often did business with their athletic department for years. Plus, they are in Phoenix so they would be close to me. So yes, put them in the WCC.

Re: Given our great history, why are we so epically bad against really good teams?
So BYU has never beaten a 10-win BCS team. What's the best BCS team BYU has ever beaten? I'm guessing Wisconsin was right up there. ‘90 Miami won 10 games ‘97 ASU and ‘96 KSU won 9 ‘80 SMU, ‘81 Washington St, ‘88 Colorado, ‘89 Oregon, ‘09 Oklahoma, ‘13 Texas, and ‘18 Wisconsin all won 8 games UCLA ...

Re: Given our great history, why are we so epically bad against really good teams?
I'll bite: There are probably multiple reasons. BSU strikes me as having the knack at playing clutch and being underestimated (at least historically); we play too tight in those games too often. That said, I think we'd need to know who these ten win teams are--in other words how do the ten win team...

Given our great history, why are we so epically bad against really good teams?
Some evidence of this is provided in this link here: https://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=21216058 We are top 25 in overall win pct over the last 20 years. Tied for 35th in AP top 25 finishes over the last 20 years. Yet, out of the top 40 programs over the last 20 years we are 39th in w...

Re: 2019 Schedule
This is an interesting schedule where our toughest games are at home, but not many cupcakes on the road. I'm thinking we will win 2 out of the BSU, Washington, Utah, and USC games since they are all at home. I feel really good about beating Liberty and Idaho St. at home. I think we probably lose to ...

Re: The Case Against Coach Rose
I saw that 2010 had an ESPN FPI about 20 spots better than 2018. I wonder if Holmoe thought the best part of 2010 was being up 16-0 on the utes. Massey aggregates a bunch of computer rankings. Here's BYU football on the Massey index: 2018 57 2017 103 2016 40 2015 39 2014 52 2013 33 2012 34 2011 32 ...

Re: Time to split up FBS
There is a system that would work for 130 teams, without extra games, without nuking existing conference relationships, without destroying traditional rivalries, and without devaluing the regular season. We would just have to be willing to get rid of the way we schedule OOC games. Right now, the co...
