BYU announces games with Northern Illinois and Id St

Brigham Young University director of athletics Tom Holmoe today announced future football games versus Northern Illinois and Idaho State.

BYU and Northern Illinois will meet at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Oct. 27, 2018, with the second game being played at Huskie Stadium in Dekalb, Illinois, on Oct. 24, 2020. The 2018 contest will be the first meeting between the Cougars and the Huskies of the Mid-American Conference. NIU has won at least 11 games in each of the past four seasons while compiling a 46-10 record and capturing four-straight MAC West titles.

The Cougars will face the Bengals of Idaho State at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, on Oct. 24, 2015. BYU and Idaho State have met five previous times in football, the first being in Pocatello, Idaho, on Nov. 4, 1932, and the most recent contest in Provo on Nov. 16, 2013. BYU owns a 5-0 record in the series.

Heard the N Ill rumor this morning. I was hoping it would be sooner like next year. By 2018 they might slip back to a bad team.

Reportedly with the addition of Idaho State on 10/24/15, the home game vs Cincinnati has been moved up to 10/17/15 and the Southern Miss road game is back in limbo. That now gives BYU 6 home and 6 road games for 2015 now.

But BYU Cougars sent out a tweet so maybe there is more changes to come:

NIU is a quality opponent. I like playing them. ISU is the type of team that I would not be disappointed not seeing on our schedule.

So Utah is following our lead again and they have scheduled a series with NIU in 2018, 2019.
