The New Ridley and The New Falslev
Is this not what it boils down to for our receivers? OK - throw in The New Friel.
I am going to go out on a limb here. Hoffman was nearly good enough to make an NFL team. Nearly. Not as good as Collie. Leslie, the graduated 5th year senior will be asked to fill the shoes of Hoffman. He has the experience to do it. Maybe a bit short of the same talent. If BYU has more weapons and better protection, given the softer schedule, maybe Leslie will put up Hoffman like numbers.
Friel thought he was NFL material. Not so much. Mahina is back. Senior. Friel was not spectacular. This should nearly be a wash.
A few receivers are back and healthy. Matthews and Houk. They will be improved.
If Nelson, Blackmon, Kurtz, Davis, and Dye cannot more than replace Falslev and Ridley, color me surprised.
I expect BYU to be slightly improved at worst case - maybe much better than 2013 receivers.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.

Re: The New Ridley and The New Falslev
There was not anything spectacular about Hoff except he had good size for college and a strong knack for the ball and was Mr consistent. Credit him. BUt he wasnt close to the most talented WR at BYU--e was virtually the only thing BYU had going for it offensively over the last four years--again credit him. But he wasnt fast and couldnt really get separation.
Flaslev was typical slot like Mieckle and others. Good asset small guy; good college football player.
Trey Dye--lightining quick and will see a lot of passes if he doesnt get creamed going up the middle.
Blackmon--real deal. maybe late round NFl talent, but why hasnt he jumped?
Kurtz, same thing. Great, he is tall and fast, but he is skinny and undersized. not going to work that great inthe nfl. But for BYU? real solid, assuming he gets and stays healthy.
This WR group compared to last years is faster and more talented. Apo started last year. This year , his Sr year, he barely made the two-deep.
