BYU vs Opponent Averages Thru Week 13

Post by SpiffCoug »

The BYU Cougars seems to have righted the ship. They are playing quite well on both sides of the ball.

Even on defense there is marked improvement. The last three games have seen BYU beat three teams. One was average, one was poor and one was truly awful. But those teams have done nothing in the passing game against the Cougars. On average those teams are 105 yards below their passing totals. In the eight previous games, teams were throwing on average for nearly 90 more yards than they averaged.

So let’s see how BYU is doing compared to opponent season averages in other categories. As always, I'm comparing the BYU game to the opponents' season averages (with the BYU game removed from those calculations).

Spiff, thanks for sharing these, I love them.

A few minor things...
Held Savannah State BELOW their scoring average.
Held Savannah State BELOW their rushing average.
SS total yards was 63, not 403
SS PER isn't correct

That's what I get for copying and pasting from the game previous. I'll make the changes.

Also, I'm running the numbers run for California so we can see what we're up against this week. I'll post those later this this week.
