I thought nobody liked the play of Sky Povey? Yet he made the first team.

I wouldn't go as far as to say "nobody". Wasn't there a poll about Povey? If I remember right the results were in Povey's favor.

You are correct. I guess the most vocal drowned out the other silent voices.

I like PoVey, and my daughter informs me often that I'm nobody, so your premise is correct.

This is kind of ridiculous. Would anyone really take two OL from Navy over even the 2nd string guys at ND? Or Povey over anyone in the starting secondary for ND?

If ye love the tranquility of servitude better than the contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Probably someone who looked past the words "Notre Dame" and realized ND was #82 in pass efficiency defense. By comparison, the horrible, awful, terrible, no-good BYU pass defense was #42. So OBVIOUSLY, you'd need to put a ND ahead of PoVey because, you know, Notre Dame.

Similarly, ND's Oline has been pretty sketchy this year, especially in the run game and giving up sacks (conveniently ND is #81 and #84 on those numbers nationally as well).

I don't see anything other than tradition that indicates anyone at ND was more deserving that PoVey or the Navy Olinemen.
