Backup QB gives me little to no confidence.
TE inspires no confidence.
I've never heard of the Backup C.
Punters inspire no confidence.

None of the incoming guys are on the list as they weren't in camp. There will be changes.
I'm hoping to see some 4 and 5 receiver sets this year.

Re: BYU Releases 2015 Football Prospectus
Agreed.
Tanner Mangum, Beau Hoge, and Koy Detmer should make the QB depth chart chase interesting in the fall.
On the offensive line, it will be interesting to see where incoming freshmen Nwigwe, Davis, and Jimenez emerge in the depth chart.
At DB/S, incoming freshmen Lake, Burt, Anderson, and Brent should make those positions fun to watch too. The only seniors among the 23 players at those positions are Sam Lee (the team "old man" this year - 2006 HS class who spent 2 mission, 1 medical redshirt, and 2 greyshirt years in his career) and Michael Wadsworth--both of whom are not mentioned in the 2 deep. The young guys are battling for spots and will hopefully will be around for the next several years.
The punters will be interesting to watch as they are both walk-on freshmen but Joshua Whippy (also on the BYU rugby team) has said he has been working on his kicking and hoped to factor into the competition in the fall.

Re: BYU Releases 2015 Football Prospectus
How is it that this now the sixth season since Max and QB position is still perilously thin?

I love the optimism--"don't worry about our sophomore backup QB behind our injury-prone starter--we've got another sophomore coming off a mission in July and two true freshmen coming in to give us depth."

Funny I was thinking that myself, as in I was being the overly optimistic guy and I caught myselfsnoscythe wrote:I love the optimism--"don't worry about our sophomore backup QB behind our injury-prone starter--we've got another sophomore coming off a mission in July and two true freshmen coming in to give us depth."

With a healthy Jamaal Williams and a healthy Algie Brown, I hope to see primarily 2 (with a TE) and 3 reciever sets this year.scott715 wrote:None of the incoming guys are on the list as they weren't in camp. There will be changes.

Re: BYU Releases 2015 Football Prospectus
Two things stand out to me.
Our two starting d ends are on the two deep. Hopefully that is good news meaning that the two guys at one are legitimately better than Rowley and Peck. AT the very least it means we have more depth than last year.
Our 1 and 2 at tight end are both defensive ends. Our tight end crop must really suck. two defensive back ups who have been playing tight end for a couple months have nailed down the 1 and 2 spot. tight end recruiting and/or development has really become a weakness.
