Bottom 5 or so and other miscellany

Post by BoiseBYU »

Didn't watch any FB on Saturday; was engaged elsewhere watching more important things. But that doesn't stop the Bottom 5 from making fearless selections.

5. Due to budget cuts--things are tough in Pocatello-- and to make ends meet the team opted to keep their defense home. That is the only explanation possible for giving up 58 points to Cal Polytechnic State University.

4. Jacksonville Jagulars, to quote Pooh. Kicker missed afield goal to win (53 yards) and then from 48 to win in OT. And. That's. All. He's. Paid. To. Do.

3. New York Jets equipment manager is some guy. For the team's game in London he made sure that all 50 plus helmets and jerseys and tape and water bottles and pads all got packed up and shipped, but it didn't stop there. He also packed 350 rolls of toilet paper. Brits are offended--" what our TP isn't good enough for your bottoms?" they ask. I beg them to be understanding and consult Freud. The Jets have been such a crappy team, well of course they are thinking TP and cleaning up whatever mess goes their way.

2. Kansas. With all that is going on in terms of education, business reform, tax policy, it is comforting that some states have their priorities straight, and Kansas is one of them, to wit: Governor Brownbeck signed a resolution declaring that in Kansas October would be "Zombie Preparedness Month." One can never be too prepared, but it seems misguided. The Jayhawks are not playing like zombies. They're just playing as if they're dead. Like non- moving dead.

1. In a perfect world what ever team TX beat should go here. But if BSU can be in the top 25 ahead of BYU, who beat them good, and since it is NOT a perfect world, well then number one most assuredly still goes to the Long Johns. And while they didn't have too much in the way of kicking woes, they really did get kicked by TCU 50-7. A day late and a dollar short but in their loss to OK State, the Bottom 5 failed to note that the Longhorns were penalized 16 times. Bottom 5 put all the credit on the kicking woes for that loss, but no it was a multi faceted effort.

Honorable mention and special shout out to Coach Whit who last week did not call a single classless play action with hardly any time left and already up by a pile of points play. The man is improving!

Gee whiz the governor and his fellow rino's I mean conservatives just raised gas tax and car licence fees and couldn't find one cent to help the Bengals out. Boise State, which for you non Idahoans is in the same state, seems to have all they need to compete on a national level. Maybe they can hunt around and find something else to tax for the poor Bengals.
