Offseason roster cut downs required
In case you wondered how many guys still remain to get cut back:
With 26 offseason additions, we now show 149 players on the roster including a projected 93 scholarship players. That means that Coach Sitake, Coach E, and Coach Detmer need to cut 44 players to trim the roster to the NCAA maximum 105 for fall camp (including 8 scholarship players). 18 walk-ons will be allowed to rejoin the team when classes begin on August 29.

Cutting walk-ons isn't too big a deal but 8 scholarship players to get down to the 85 scholarship limit?

Since this was posted we've seen Jordan Preator (transfer) and Kyle Johnson (injury) go. That still leaves 6 scholarship players to cut.

So in a team meeting, coach says, "Guys, we have to cut the roster. So, look to the left. Now look the right. If you're not better than those two guys, you are on the chopping block. Better start working harder."

Josh Weeks is now shown by Loyal Cougars as dismissed from BYU over the legal issues surrounding his violation of the anti-stalking injunction.

Hopefully he takes some time to figure out his life. No place at BYU for a stalker, especially not with the things going on at Baylor and BYU's own "rape culture" nonsense going around the national media.Fido wrote:Josh Weeks is now shown by Loyal Cougars as dismissed from BYU over the legal issues surrounding his violation of the anti-stalking injunction.

Re: Offseason roster cut downs required
The ones that are on scholarship who are listed as having mission plans are Tevita Mo'unga--he played last year too though I've not seen anything showing him getting a call so he remains on the scholly list, and then true freshmen Caden Haws, Keenan Pili, and Alema Pilimai--word is they were going to play a year first before going. Zayne Anderson previously was listed as having mission plans but LoyalCougars now shows him as not planning on a mission. That number does not include mission first recruits (Barrington, Finau, Funa, Gentry, Hall, Jensen, Devin Kaufusi, Jackson Kaufusi, Latu, Livai, Mahe, McFarland, Nacua, Southam, Tai, Tooley, and Tuipulotu).
