The Bottom Five or so and Other Miscellany is devastated. But looks to other stalwart programs to step up and fill the gap.

That's the right place for them. Funny that when I attended BS University and both were in the Big Sky Idaho owned them in football. Times change

UMass and New Mexico State will probably do the same. Independence is harsh for small time programs.

As the P5 seek to play more OOC games amongst themselves and top echelon non-P5, there will be fewer money games for teams like Idaho.

UMass generated $7M in football revenue, last year; NMSU was under $7M. They don't have the resources to play at the FBS level.
