I wondered. It seems like he has been on the injury list for almost all of last year--even when he did play.

It makes me wonder if they figured this was likely to happen and that was factored in as Sitake started offering scholarships. I'm glad they brought in Eide and Norman as transfers. The depth chart isn't much more than 2 deep all along the line until the freshmen and RMs come in the fall (Chambers, Haws, Herring, Ward).
2017 should bring back RMs Kieffer Longson (4*) and Brady Christensen and have Joe Brown eligible to play to replace seniors Wilcox, Eide, and walk ons Dawe and Denucci and Haws planning on a mission.
They might also look to move somebody over to the O-line like they did with Gulley a couple years ago if necessary.

Probably read/watched the recent stories about Staley and decided to call it quits while he still had some modicum of health.

Right, because he'll be doing the same kind of work that Staley was doing...SpiffCoug wrote:Probably read/watched the recent stories about Staley and decided to call it quits while he still had some modicum of health.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Re: Kyle Johnson done with football
With the scholarship crunch, I have to wonder if he was encouraged to quit. He was good and got PT earlier in his career, but he could have been seen as a scholarship liability--taking up space and at risk of not being able to produce.
Does this crunch have everyone watching their back? What is this doing to morale?
