DL Group 2016
http://www.cougarboard.com/board/messag ... d=16270663
MOST LIKELY STARTER CANDIDATES
DT - Travis Tuiloma 6'2"/295 SR - multi-year starter and dominant presence when healthy. NFL future. When will he be ready?
DT - Logan Taele 6'2"/295 SR - started 11 games LY, with 27 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 6.5 TFL. I'm expecting a strong senior year from him.
DT - Kesni Tausinga 6'1"/303 JR - saw acton in 11 games as a soph LY. 8 tackles, 2 TFL. Could emerge as a junior.
DE/DT - Tomasi Laulile 6'4"/285 JR - played a lot LY as a soph, collecting 26 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 5.5 TFL. I expect Tomasi to start and have a breakout this year as a junior.
DE - Sae Tautu 6'4"/245 SR - played in 13 games and started 6 LY at LB with 38 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 9 TFL. Could make an impact at DE.
DEPTH
DE/DT - Moses Kaumatule 6'2"/275 SO - limited action LY as an RM freshman, but was a talented recruit out of HS (consensus 3-star out of Bingham HS)
DE - Uriah Leiatua 6'4"/240 FR - talented recruit (consensus 3-star with offers from USC, Wisconsin, UCLA, Stanford, etc.) Could he make an impact as a freshman?
DT - Tevita Mo'Unga 6'3"/340 SO - limited action LY as a true frosh, 5 tackles against Wagner, Fresno. Could make impact this year, 3-star recruit with multiple Pac-12 offers.
DT - Merrill Taliauli 6'2"/305 SO - saw limited action as a freshman in 2013 (4 tackles). Back from mission, 3-star recruit out of HS.
DT - Kainoa Fuiava 6'5"/295 FR - true freshman from Downey, CA. Not highly recruited (NR, 2-star)
WILD CARDS
?? Will Sione Takitaki make it back on the roster soon? We all know he has star potential when he's playing, could be big-time pass rushing end in a 4-3.
?? Will Harvey Langi see some reps at DE? Is this because coaches don't think Takitaki will make it back?
?? Where is Handsome Tanielu?? 4-star recruit from Snow could make an impact at DT... not on roster right now. Academics?

Sione Takitaki is a redshirt, hope to be back next year. Handsome Tanielu is practicing, is he not?

This is great stuff, scott, I always appreciate you posting all the information you do. Thanks.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

I don't like the sound of it we can get some key players healthy.
