No sooner than I brag on them our ladies soccer team falls to #9 Georgetown in double OT. Ugh.scott715 wrote:Also note that our volleyball team is #9. Our women's programs do very well across the board. Last year I think almost all of them were first place in the conference. The women's volleyball team made the finals two years ago.
I would like to see UConn or Cincinnati as the other invite. Houston's football team is good but political a hot potato and will not be invited.
I think if BYU is not invited there will be no expansion. We are the only option that would add to the conference.

BYU is 3-0 against the spread so far this year. I would guess soon to be 3-1.MountaineerLegion wrote:The line is out...WVU -4.5. Basically a tossup. Thoughts?

This may not be wise but here's a link to a discussion on our board about the -4.5 line.

It's pretty tame right now but be warned the homers will arrive eventually. Just ignore them.

Line up to 6.5 now. A bit more realistic, though perhaps still low.
I say BYU 13, WVU 24.
I say BYU 13, WVU 24.

Only real comparison against a spread team would be Arizona. BYU did surprisingly well there defensively, but if the Mountaineers can score more than 25 points they probably take it. BYU's offensive troubles are not likely to be solved this week.

Re: WVU Preview 2016
Sorry, guys, I'm very pessimistic about this week's game. Travelling across the nation. We have an offense that lacks confidence.
We're going up against an high-powered opposing offense that could put up a ton of points and force our struggling offense to struggle even more because they have to press to make plays to try and keep up.
And the defense that could be exposed early then begins to press to make plays because they feel they have to do something to give the offense a chance to correct things.
This has blowout loss written all over it.
WVU 37 BYU 13

Re: WVU Preview 2016
I've considered this game a loss since before the season started, back when I believed BYU would have a potent offense. BYU has never played a good game on the East coast, that will certainly not change this year. I'm expecting a loss in this game and hoping for a win against Toledo.

Re: WVU Preview 2016
The DC area has the highest concentration of Mormons east of the Rockies. Lots of BYU alums among them. FWIW, tickets are 40% off right now (wish I'd waited to get mine).
Prior to this year BYU ran one of the fastest offenses in the country, so our D has seen fast. Arizona's wideouts were also tall and quick, as were UCLA's, but not like WVU's. We did well against those teams on defense. I'm predicting that BYU's D does a respectable job against WVU, but the travel, FG kicker's injury, and frustrations set in on offense and we, again, come up short. WVU wins 24-21.
