Re: Boise Live
If the receivers catch those balls that hit them in the hands, I think we are all talking about a different outcome and different QB play. Taysom isn't perfect but he played well enough that if he had had help from his Oline and the receivers catch the freaking ball, BYU wins this game.

Re: Boise Live
Taysom not a world beater, but played good enough to win IF the receivers could catch the ball. Kurtz was bad. But nobody was good

Re: Boise Live
Kurtz wasn't bad, he was HORRIBLE. Hold on to the freaking ball and he has at least one td. Taysom hit him in the hands behind the defense and he allows a guy strip the ball out of his hands that was just running by. I can't even believe how soft our receivers are this year and Kurtz is the softest of them all.mtnradio wrote:Taysom not a world beater, but played good enough to win IF the receivers could catch the ball. Re: Boise Live
Yep, it is maddening. Go back and watch BYU's receivers from the 96 team to see what tough physical receivers look like. BYU hasn't had guys like that since.BroncoBot wrote:pillows and feathers baby

Re: Boise Live
Can someone explain how the clock didnt run out after the block? Because I get stopping it on change of possession... but after BYU recovered it for a loss isn't it a running play? Hence a running clock? I understand why we didn't lose possession... but I was surprised the clock didn't run out before we could spike it.

So ... did the bye come one week too late? Were our guess just to worn down from a brutal season?

Re: Boise Live
I totally agree. Taysom played well despite his bad throws, wasting prescious time off clock during last drive, and getting tunnel vision and taking too Long in the pocket. Our WRs are soft as pillows and have feathers for fingers. Except for Jeurgens all world catch this is a very poor pass game. Our D apparently has better hands than our WRs.frdbtr wrote:If the receivers catch those balls that hit them in the hands, I think we are all talking about a different outcome and different QB play. And Squally, notwithstanding missing giant holes with an easy cut, played adequately enuogh to win this game. More passes caught and the run game opens even more.
Our offense is horrible. But the most unacceptable effort award gores to Kanuch and #71 for blocking like total sissies on the fg try. Inexplicable!! Unacceptable!! Bad. Bad. Bad.

Re: Boise Live
@lawngnome. That's a good point. I suppose it would be logical to say that the clock stopped because the Boise team rushed the field and the refs had to sort out the confusion, but if so, shouldn't that have been a 15-yard unsportsmanlike behavior penalty? We could have had another try at the kick?

Re: Boise Live
Yeah, I was confused by that as well, I understand not calling a penalty as it seemed like both teams thought it was a change of possession. Just one of those weird things you never see because no one kicks a field goal on first down, with 15 seconds, and has it blocked. Freak scenario.
