Re: Bronco Interview on the zone
Monsoon and Chuckles went off on Bronco regarding his comments about diversity, even commenting that Orem and Payson are more diverse than Provo. If you read or listen to the interview, they totally disregarded the next sentence (which clarified his comment). The diversity he was referring to was sports teams or entertainment, not racial or religious. In Salt Lake City, a successful Jazz season dominates this town. It is a one professional sport city. When you see Jerry Sloan or Frank Layden (or even a player) in the mall or restaurant, they are certainly noticed. If the coach or player from the triple A baseball or hockey team is in the mall, he is less recognized. Because of the stature of BYU football brought by Lavell's success, the head coach of BYU is certainly one of the more recognized people in Provo. Bronco was clearly recognized in Provo, probably not so much in Virginia because it's football program is not as dominant as BYU is in Utah. Football is less dominant at UVA. Stands to reason that he would be less recognized there. Speaking of racial diversity, how many of Sports Talk 1280's talk show hosts are other than Caucasian male? Seems like Provo may be more diverse than 1280's talkshow host staff...

Re: Bronco Interview on the zone
I wonder if there aren't more people who follow (not necessarily fans) BYU football than do the Utah Jazz.
