I wish him great success and happiness! What a classy guy ... I'm really disappointed that it didn't work out for him.
He is going to be bought out of his contract. That is how things usually go in this case.

I would like BYU to bring Detmer into the AD office similar to Robbie Bosco's role. Detmer has a nack for soft people skills. He could work well with boosters.

Who do you all think gets the 10th assistant spot? My guesses are either Paul Peterson or David Fifita, former ute d-lineman who currently is the d-line coach at Idaho State.

I wouldn't mind that at all. Weber's backs were impressive this year. We need a solid RB's coach so that leaves Fesi or A-Rod with QB's or WR's

Fesi said on the radio last night that he'd be working with WR.

I'd have rather had ARod with the WR, but we'll see how he does with QBs.

I'd rather have him with Utah - but we can hope for the best right?

Oh yes, I listened to that interview last night. I really like Fesi with the receivers. that is where he can be most effective IMO. I am a little nervous about A-Rod with our QB's though. Hopefully that works out well. I am cautiously optimistic right now as well.

Just read the Dick Harmon article and it basically announced that A-Rod is the QB's coach. So as of now the Offensive coaching staff is:
OC: Grimes
PGC/QB: A-Rod
WR: Fesi
TE: Clark
OL: Pugh
RB: ?
I don't know if this means that the 10th assistant will be RB's coach or if Grimes will be with RB's and the 10th assistant will be with the Defense? This makes January 9th all the more interesting...

So BYU got rid of Detmer (assuming he would have been qb coach) for a-rod? I'd have given Detmer a year with the qbs. If be did awesome keep him. If he was terrible call a-rod.
