He is considered a top shelf RB in the class of 2014. Palelei plays for Class 5A East Ascension (Gonzales, La.) and has received an offer from BYU.

Originally listed as 5-8/180 as SO. - now reported to be 5-10/195.
Runs 4.4/40; benches 305; squats 585. Scored 7 TDs and 600 all purpose yards as So.
Noted as an explosive back with great vision and sharp cuts - absolute stud.

Sione Palelei's high school coach said he is the best he's had (25 years) and is easily one of the top RB's in LA. Parents are very interested in what BYU has to offer for the growth and development of his character as well as his talent. He likes the Y - the feeling is mutual

Talo Steves is reporting that BYU offered him a schollie. He loves the Cougars and grew up in UT before moving to LA. Palelei is related to Cougar commit Meti Taliauli. This would be a huge get as he is a legit 4 star RB.
