He says he has thoracic outlet syndrome. I don't think he'll be playing this season at all if he keeps having complications from that, and definitely not if he has surgery. It probably will be good for him to be around the program for an extra 9 months to get acclimated and understanding the system. My guess is he will grey shirt.

Doesn't sound good. Hopefully they get it all straightened out.

Could he not improve the situation at point guard IF he can be healed?

Either rehab or surgery will put him out for this season, but with a pretty good prognosis long term. Or the darker side of me hopes it is a complicated ruse to bring him home off his mission early to shore up the point guard position -- in which case, I hope he's been working out

Surgery will more than likely be needed to permanently fix the issue. As much as I would want him to suit up and at the very least practice with the team, I'm doubtful it will happen. One can hope, though. I'm inclined to believe it was divine intervention. Even if it takes him 6 months to heal, that will still give him more time to get in shape for the 2015/2016 season than if were still on his mission.
