BYU #1 Nationally in Scoring?

Post by snoscythe »

After the drubbing of Chaminade, BYU is now #2 nationally in scoring average at 99 ppg.

Eastern Kentucky is tops at 102, and if SUU can hold EKU to 93 or fewer points tomorrow night (Wednesday), BYU will ease into the #1 slot.

Not too shabby. Helps when you have a guard go 10-13 from deep.

That Is awesome. It will probably come back down after tomorrow. I am so excited to play a team from the Big 10. It doesn't happen very often, and when it has there hasn't been much success. Wisconsin and Michigan State come to mind in recent years. Big 10 teams love to slug it out. BYU better come ready for war. Should be fun. Go Cougars!

BYU typically is in the top 20 in scoring average, or at least they have been for the last decade or so. Last year BYU ended up being #3 in the country. Which is great as long other teams aren't scoring as much as you. Some teams (recently - Gonzaga, SMC, utah) don't seem to care how much BYU scores/game.

Does it even really matter when the scoring differential is +23.6? Yes they will need to play solid defense, but I am even more encouraged after watching SDSU dismantle Pitt last night. Today will be a test. Go Cougars!

#4 Eastern Kentucky is coming to town on Saturday on KBYU. That will be a must see game. ESPN should pick it up.
