Zags Lose Player on Brutal Play
The Zags' Josh Perkins is out indefinitely with a broken jaw after this play. it's not as painful to watch as some of the guys coming down on broken legs, but man, that's a rough way to go out in a basketball game.

I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

That was pretty brutal. Not sure why the guy thought he had to kick his leg out, kind of an unnatural way to close out on a guy. That looked more like something you'd see in church ball, only not jumping as high.

Yeah, if it were church ball, it would've just been a knee to the thigh.

Ha! That's about right, except with the take down tackle with the upper body.Schmoe wrote:Yeah, if it were church ball, it would've just been a knee to the thigh.

It looked to me like the guy who did the damage was out of control and was trying to correct himself in the air as why he kneed the other dude in the face. Just a big accident. Too bad for the guy who will be eating from a straw for a while.

Yeah. And play would continue, no foul, incidental contact...BYULV wrote:Ha! That's about right, except with the take down tackle with the upper body.Schmoe wrote:Yeah, if it were church ball, it would've just been a knee to the thigh.

Re: Zags Lose Player on Brutal Play
ouch.
No one's fault I suppose. I'd almost put the blame on the zag who got the guy in the air and then dribbled right in front of a "defenseless" defender. He should have had the courtesy of letting the guy fly by and then dribbling baseline or taking the open 3.

Maybe he didn't think the defender was enough of a moron to leap that high on what was obviously a pump fake.

Re: Zags Lose Player on Brutal Play
I'd say a pump fake to get a guy in the air and then a drive to the basket is an EXTREMELY common offensive play. I'd blame the guy who flew through the air completely out of control as opposed to the guy who made a normal, everyday basketball play.
