Rate Coach Dave Rose

I am sticking with my 9 although the last game was very frustrating.I think the future is bright for BYU basketball. 1967cougar I appreciate your comments and to me that is what makes coaching at BYU special,hard, unique and whatever else we want to call it.

I gave Rose a 7 because of this:

Without question Rose is an above average coach. But we have got to do better in the postseason for him to truly be great.

Fantastic regular season coach. Unacceptable post-season record.

Unacceptable post-season record? Doesn't he have more post-season wins than just about any BYU coach except possibly Stan Watts (and he's in the Hall of Fame). If Rose is unacceptable it's been 50 years since we had an acceptable one.

Just because BYU's had a long history of 5's and 6's doesn't mean Rose gets a pass.

If we had no honor code, and therefore Brandon Davies doesn't get expelled for making babies, then we are all sitting around here talking about how cool it wad when we went to the final four and almost took it all. So apparently Dave Rose remembered to tell Jimmer to drop 30 points a night being triple teamed, but must have forgotten to tell Brandon Davies not to have unprotected sex with multiple people.

This is just getting silly.

If Coach Rose has an unacceptable post-season record then I'm not sure BYU's long history is up to 5's or 6's. Past coaches are more like 3's or 4's then.

Very likely--I was just trying to avoid a satellite agreement spawning out over how we rate Cleveland, Reid, etc.

Only one BYU coach has a higher winning percentage than Rose and that was BYU's first basketball coach way back in 1905. The season was something like 10 games.
