Remember when Utah signed Urban Meyer to that essentially was a lifetime extension? Where it was like a 5 year extension but every winning season added another year to the contract. There were built in raises and he was to be one of the highest paid coaches (like top 10% as a baseline).

Anyway, he never coached a game under that new contract. I'm not even sure the ink was dry before he left for Florida.

It's a bird in the hand for him till he lands himself another, bigger bird.

He pulls off another Sweet 16 run then he'll get poached and he'll be able to point to his healthy contract and ask for more.
