I see that I was simply too quick and articles came later.EM_Puma wrote:I see Tweets of locals reporting Tyler Haws leads Cleveland Cavs scorers with 12 points on 3 of 4 night, 11 minutes of play. He was 3 of 3 from beyond 3 point line.
Excited, I went to the two largest newspapers in Cleveland area (Cleveland Plain Dealer and Akron Beacon Journal) to see if it was noted. Didn't find even a mention that the Cavs played a summer league game. Part of issue is that Cleveland has MLB and NFL teams and not a one-sport team like Utah Jazz with Salt Lake City. Both papers focused on release of LeBron James new movie Trainwreck. Very disappointing.

"Undrafted guards Tyler Haws and Keith Sykes were the leading scorers with 12 and 11 points off the bench respectively.
Head Coach David Blatt sat courtside observing the action and at the half, he met with a few players on the court to give a couple of pointers. It is highly unlikely that any of these players will make the Cavaliers' opening day roster with the exception of Harris [Joe Harris who was on the Cavs roster last year.]."

Announcers for the game (including the legendary Reggie Miller) seem really impressed with Haws.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,

I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Re: I wonder why Tyler Haws...
I watched a replay of his time on the court. He looks like a good role player on offense. Making shots and moving intelligently. He also moved the ball. He scored on kick outs and off a down screen.
Defensively his first 3 possessions were:
-beat on drive, fouls
-stuck on screen, gives up open 3
-beat on drive fouls
They went right at him and he couldn't answer the bell. After that he backed off more to prevent drives and give the help time to come.
He was an offensive plus and a defensive minus. What bothered me was his technique for getting over or under screens was bad.

Great thing about that game is it was against Golden State, a team that values 3s.
