I don't know how bad of a team Santa clara is but BYU needs to do this to the bottom of the WCC every year in order to have a chance to compete for a WCC championship.

They were 6-11, now 6-12.

Young team. Couple good players. Not the best team BYU has played, but certainly not the worst.

BYU shot over 80% in the first half and played stellar defense. They are really coming into their own. It's hard to both defend hard, and score. Which is why so many players only go one way. But they are starting to figure out some things. Yoeli had been better sharing the ball lately, and Haws was lights out shooting and controlling the ball.

Zac needs a little confidence on D and shooting. He just needs to pull the trigger. His spacing really helps out Yoeli out. Luke struggled getting the ball out of the double team, hut is otherwise a good passer. Bergerson got some good minutes in scrub time, looked like a good two way player that just needs to learn the plays and the system. Dastrup was high energy and made some great plays (and had some dopey fouls and a couple TOs).

When Nixon comes back he will be hard to keep off the court, and it will be interesting to see how minutes get split up. I would guess that Zac slides to the 3 more and spells Bryant a little, Nixon eats into Peyton's minutes a little and Zac's when not playing small ball (either on bench or at the 3)

Fun game. What a rout.

We came out aggressive and on sync. Too often in recent years we've come out slow on the road against the lower WCC, giving teams confidence and opportunity. We need to do what we did today. Come out hot.

Not only did we score above our average, we held SC below our average. If not for a last minute 3, SC would have finished with under 50 points. We kept them at 35 points for most of the 2nd half.

This was the first game this year that we made a bad team look bad.

Correct. This was a team BYU should have beat by 30. It would be nice to see BYU finish off SMC at the Marriot center.
This would have been like the football team beating Weber state by 21.

We made UVU look bad, and they're not really that bad.

Sagarin's computer thought we should have won by 18. As a result we're ranked in the 50s now both on kenpom and sagarin. On the rpi we dropped down to #78 or so because that measurement mostly only factors in SOS.
