My read is that the guy doesn't want the US and Russia to eliminate ISIS and then leave Syria on its own to pick up the pieces--is that how you interpret it? If so, that's not at all shocking that you would expect someone to fix the mess they made instead of leaving it for the neighbors to sort out.

Also, it's probably worth noting that he's not the head of Mossad, but rather the chief of the Military Intelligence Directorate. So this isn't the CIA Director John Brennan speaking, this is DIA director Vincent Stewart speaking. Points to anyone who knew who Vincent Stewart was prior to this post!
