Without reading, I'm going to say Christians, since we don't acknowledge Muhammad as the final prophet of God. Although we do have some differing Christian beliefs, we have much more in common with the Christian belief system than Islam.

And that was Peterson's point. Some lady wrote a piece claiming we were more Muslim. He tore apart her thesis.

Glad to hear it. I really get sick of people (often LDS) saying Mormons are just like Muslims simply because of the word of wisdom.

Yeah, went and read the article. Looks like my response was like the response initially given to the dumb article trying to spark fear that somehow Mormons are closet radical Muslims.

I am wondering if this is an attack on Mitt Romney.
The report reminds me of someone making out a report with, at best, a quick glance through a poor encyclopedia.

This is interesting. I've studied the Islamic faith quite a bit, and written several papers on it. To stretch and claim that Mormons are closer to Muslims than Christianity is severe "pretzel logic" syndrome. Some real mental gymnastics are occurring to come up with that thesis.

Not even close.

Of course it's an attack on Mitt Romney.

There are some similarities between the founding of Islam and Mormonism (visiting angels, divine scripture, etc.) but isn't that really how most religions start?

Someone has a visitation or achieves enlightenment and then a book about that it is produced.

The original article, claiming that Mormonism is closer to Muslim than Christianity appeared on Huffington Post. Does there need to be any further evidence that it's an attack on Mitt Romney?

I could see an article titled "Mitt Romney Likes Puppies" on Huffington Post and know that it's an attack article, and probably inside it says how he likes to eat puppies (might as well blame Mitt for everything Obama has done).
