my Top 10 reasons to not vote Obama (LONG)

1. Financial mismanagement. 4 straight, unprecedented years of Trillion + budget deficits. We’re on track to hit $20,000,000,000,000.00 in National Debt by 2016 if Obama is re-elected. This is financial disaster of epic proportions.
2. Blame Culture- GOP and Tea party Stonewalling definitely played a significant role to today’s Washington culture. We can vote them out too. But the responsibility for action lies with the executive branch and this president will be known for his ‘blame Bush’, ‘blame GOP’, ‘blame the Rich’, blame business and blame bank strategies. They’ve worked very well. But his job is to assume responsibility and to execute. He’s done neither. His most significant accomplishment, Obamacare, passed without a single GOP vote.
3. GM Bankruptcy- bankruptcy laws are very clear. Certain parties have better claims to the bankrupt assets in and established order which allows lenders and stakeholders the ability to plan for risk. Obama, illegally and inappropriately, advanced the UAW union’s interest to the front of the line during the GM bankruptcy. While seemingly innocuous, this intervention was one of several actions taken by Obama that introduced heightened levels of risk and volatility of doing business in this country. Risk and volatility are job and economy killers.
4. Unemployment. Obama inherited the largest recession since the Great Depression and proceeded to preside over the longest recession recovery in history. I don’t buy Clinton’s argument that “no one could have fixed it” for a moment. Not a single moment. I think it was 46 straight weeks of unemployment over 8% which is more of a symptom of severe domestic policy failures.
5. The #1 problem during the recession was falling house values. In 2009, 1 in 4 houses were underwater. Today, that number is virtually the same. President Obama attempted a few small programs to address the problem (but nothing as comprehensive or large like the Frank Dodd legislation that attacked the banking and business industries) but the largest problem of the 2008 recession, and the largest source for American middle-class wealth, personal home ownership, remains unaddressed. In my opinion he didn’t even try to fix the housing market.
6. Another major cause for the recession was bank risk-taking. Obama’s answer was Frank-Dodd legislation. Yet despite the mountains of new costs and regulations the banks deemed “too big to fail” are even bigger than before. To make matters worse is the banks now have perfect knowledge what happens when they take enough risk as to jeapoardize the financial system: the government bails them out. Great incentive. Even worse, years after Frank Dodd passed, regulations part of this monstrosity are STILL not finalized in committees adding to the volatile business environment. Problem = not solved.
7. Foreign Policy. Obama has negotiated 0 trade agreements. Zero. China has negotiated hundreds during that same time span. Despite paying Arabs billions in foreign aid, they now hate us more than before Obama’s presidency. Israel has been marginalized, Iran is 4 years closer to a Nuclear weapon, 12 countries have sanction waivers to purchase oil from iran, and Egypt just elected a President from the Muslim Brotherhood. Oh, and Libya killed four unarmed americans.
8. Obamacare – Massive increase in medical benefits and coverages without the money to pay for it or the doctors to administer millions of new eligible patients. First government tax ever on citizenry inaction (or is it a penalty, Mr. president?) . Fails to address any of the core problems causing the out of control costs of American medical insurance that we continue to see today such as the 3rd party payer system, malpractice lawsuits, state by state regulation and lack of market competition. Premiums have risen by $2500 and we don’t have the doctors to treat the millions of new customers seeking care.
9. Lack of Leadership: 0 Federal spending budgets passed in 4 years. Gross negligence of Jobs Council, Intelligence briefings, and Debt Committees. Presided over the first ever downgrade of American credit in history. 412 hours spent in economic meetings compared to 600 hours playing golf. Skips meetings with Israel but manages to attend fund raisers and late-night TV shows.
10. Questionable Legal actions:
• Proliferation of un-elected Czars.
• Fast and Furious scandal where Americans were killed and documents implicating WH officials were protected through inappropriate use of executive privilege.
• Executive branch “legislating” new laws by refusal to enforce existing (albeit conflicted) immigration laws.
• White House had knowledge of impending attacks on Libyan embassy yet the handful of Marine guards were not warned or even issued bullets. They and the ambassador were all killed while the administration (see point 2) blames an obscure, 4-month old youtube video.
• Forcing the Catholic church to provide contraceptives in Catholic hospitals against their beliefs.
• Cited by Attorney Generals from 9 states for 21 illegal actions
