Video/Intercomm Security System Help

I have a friend who lives in Brazil who wants to install a video/intercomm system so she can see who's at the gate. I know next to nothing about these things. She is going to be up here in July and would like to get a decent one, but one not too expensive. Anything thing bought in Brazil tends to be very expensive.

Can any of you get me pointed in the right direction?
