Bottom Five--9-30-14

Post by BoiseBYU »

Fantastic week. Michigan and Idaho solidified positions. But we have a new entrant, the mighty SMU Mustangs! And Boise State and Utah displayed moments of brilliance! While the Big 10 finally scored some victories, it was because they finally started playing each other....

5. Men of Troy--no not that Troy. But the school Troy. The team is 0-5 and have given up 208 points already.

4. Boston RedSox. They go from World Series champs to last place. In one year.

3. Michigoner Woeverines. The team lost, again, for the third time in September, the first time that has ever happened. And, tragically, for apparently only the second time in 24 years, they lost something called the Little Brown Jug to MN. Not that! Apparently, that is as prized as the Iron Skillet that SMU (see below) and TCU were going after last week. By the way, one thing we learn from the Utes' loss to WSU is that MI really must be that bad....

2. Bursting on the scene is SMU! The 0-4 Must Dangs have scored one TD ALL YEAR! So far the scoring differential is 202-12 to the negative. Can the Vandals hold on?

1. Idaho Vandals. To answer the question, yes they can! Beloved Vandals's coach continues to win the honesty award. In referring to the Vandals' 34-10 loss to South Alabama, the Vandal coach said "Offensively, they just whupped us. There's really no other way of putting it." Bottom Five could not have said it better!

Honorable mentions. First let's hear it for BSU! The team put together a 7 turnover ugfest in losing to Air Force. And more stellar effort from Coach Pete! Tied with Stanford, middle of the fourth quarter, called a fake punt on 4th and 7 at midfield. Stanford stuffed it and then proceed to move 50 yards for the winning score. And finally what about those Utes! Up 24-7 and dreaming of Rose Bowls, they lose 28-27 at home. Can't throw anyone under the bus for this one because the wheels had already fallen off.
