'14 Midterm Elections Today
It's finally here. The 2014 Midterm elections. Will the GOP recapture the Senate tonight? Any predictions?
I am closely watching the senate races in NH, NC, GA, and CO.
Nervous time .........

Well, it was announced the GOP has won 6 senate seats - stopping Obama and Harry Reid, taking away the democratically controlled senate. More seats pending.

Suhweeeeet. It was a beautiful night. The senate was stripped away from Harry Reid and his gestapo tactics. The GOP picked up 7 senate seats, with seats 8 and 9 pending. In the House of Rep's the GOP picked up 12 seats.
Obama has been bad news for the House of Rep's and the Dem's. His total seat losses in 2010 and 2014 = -75. The most seat losses in the House since WWII.

I can finally let out a big sigh of relief. I do agree with you though Sno. I'm not a fan of either Bohner or McConnell. I wonder why the politicians put the same people back in again and again.
It really is a vote against obama. It would be interesting to know how many that voted for him voted for republicans in this election.

Agree. However, there is 1 caveat. Both McConnel and Boehner have felt the sting of defeat. They are bloodied veterans. They know Obama is a lame duck. Toast. Done. Everything now is for 2016. I think the 2 GOP majority leaders will be disciplined and wise. No self inflicted wounds.snoscythe wrote:Now we just get to see how McConnell and Bohner fumble this away leading up to 2016.

I hope they change from playing politics to doing what's best for the country. Public servants? We will see.

The GOP wrested the Senate away from Obama and the Dem's last night; today the Dow is up +100. Coincidence?
