Where do you fall in the political spectrum?
I thought this was an interesting survey/analysis:
https://www.politicalcompass.org/test/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Have to say it plotted me more to the left and more authoritarian than I thought. Just a couple of notches on the right/libertarian quadrant.
I think what pushed me towards the middle was my response to absolute questions where the words "always" and "never" were used.

Interesting. I was also kind of put off by the questions being so absolute. In the end I ended up a bit more right of you and a bit more libertarian.

I'm about as libertarian as Sno, but I'm much further right.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

So I'm an economic righty but clearly balanced btw libertarian and authoritarian.

I consider myself a hardcore conservative.
The graph put me on the left side.

Re: Where do you fall in the political spectrum?
I think one oversight in the metric is Constitutional conservatism--none of the questions really seemed to plumb those depths. Given the nature of the questions, I can see why it would put me close to the middle. "Abortions should only be allowed when the life of the mother is at risk." Well, while I believe that the life of the mother should be one exception, I also believe that rape, incest, etc. are exceptions to a general prohibition of abortion. So I had to put "Disagree" on that one. If Westboro Baptist Church is the right end of the spectrum on conservatism, I'd have to say I'm closer to the middle.
The "conservative" questions seemed to be probing for social, economic, and foreign policy conservatives, where I can see myself closer to the middle. On the untouched constitutional conservative, I'm way off to the right, but that isn't reflected in this.

This is almost exactly where I fall almost every time I take one of these.SpiffCoug wrote:So I'm an economic righty but clearly balanced btw libertarian and authoritarian.

Clearly their questions are not asking what they think that they're asking
