Former BYU quarterback Jake Heaps signs contract with New York Jets
By Brandon Judd, Deseret News

Jake Heaps, who played quarterback at BYU from 2010-11, signed a contract with the New York Jets after trying out at the team's mini-camp over the weekend.

Heaps announced the signing on Monday, and the Jets confirmed it a short time later.

Congrats to Jake. Sure would be a great story if he can somehow make the final roster. He cleared one hurdle, but has several even larger hurdles left to overcome.

I hope he can make it.
