2013 WCC Rosters

Post by scott715 »

Here is what each team will lose for next year
GU Sacre and Carter
LMU Armstead, Viney
Pep Jackson, Darby, Suttle, Moore
Port Mitrovic, Waterford
SMC Steidel, Walker
SD Norris
SF Green, Caloiaro
SC Bach

It appears the conference is pretty young this year. Next year could be a break out year especially if recruiting improves with the improved strength in the league and the extra exposure this year. The top 3 are good. LMU and SF are moving up. The bottom 4 were +200 however SC did beat New Mexico on the road. Maybe they could do better. If the bottom 4 can move to mid 100 that would help the league next year.
In LMU's case, avoiding some of the bad losses and a stonger bottom of the conference could have put them on the bubble this year.

Doesn't LMU also lose Viney? He's a Senior.

LMU will probably also lose Ashley Hamilton even though he has a year's eligibility left. He graduates in June and wants on the British national team for the Olympics and European pro ball. We do, however, pick up three signed recruits, local products Nick Stover (ESPN Scouts grade - 90), and Taj Adams (ESPN Soouts Grade - 82) along with 6"11" Tobe Okafor (ESPN Scouts Grade - 86) from our Nigerian connection by way of a Maine prep school. Things are looking up.

Wow Gonzaga isn't going to have a lot of size to deal with Davies and Austin.

At this point SMC has to be the favorite. Then probably Gonzaga followed by BYU and LMU.

The reason Spangler transferred out is a European big is on his way to GU.

Word has it coaches Few and Lloyd flew to Europe yesterday to pick up the LOI from Przemyslaw Karnowski. The consensus is it was suggested to Ryan that his PT would be limited this next season and a redshirt could be in his best interest and that of the program. Spangler is from a close family and a small town and it seems he figured that if he was going to have to sit out for a year and work on skills it might as well be at home with family and friends. Expect him to sign with Oklahoma.

Coaches didn't want him to go but couldn't pass on the Karnivore.

Following is a link to a rating service in Europe PK is in the 1993 age group.

Zags will have Harris 6'8", Dower 6'9", Olynyk 7'1" and the Karnivore 7'1" that should be size enough to hang with Davies and Austin.

Zags still in the running for ASU transfer Trent Lockett if he comes to GU then GU will be the hands down favorite in the WCC next season.

Go!! Zags!!!

I don't think SF is on the rise anymore. They may be the doormat if not next year then maybe the year after. Pretty hard to loose 9 players in one year (that is if they ended up losing them all).
