2013 - Harrison Handley - WR/TE
From Alta HS
Sandy, Utah
Ht:6'6"
Wt:200 lbs
Received offer at BYU Elite camp today (4/14/12). Showed well at the LV 7 on 7 camp last week which team Utah won. Seems like a hybrid WR like Mitch Matthews or Marcus Matthews - has height and speed to make a difficult match-up for DBs and LBs.

One of the top performers at Scott Collie's Receiver Tech 25 Camp last Saturday (6/9/12).
Plays more like a WR than TE.
Will attend 6/13/12 Wednesday BYU Junior Day. However, will also trip to BSU, Stanford, UT, USU.

Measured in at Utah Elite Camp at 6'5.5";205 and ran a 4.67/40. Has offers from USU, BYU, UT and is hoping for one from Stanford. Priority factors: academics, coaching, the campus.

Three WRs from UT have been invited. All from Scott Collie's WR camp.
BYU prospect Harrison Handley will be Attending Elite 11 camp and receiving passes from top 11 QBs in nation. We have one commitment also catching passes - Hayden Weichers; and another prospect Skyler Munson.

Scott Collie reports that Alta's Harrison Handley was named the top receiver at Elite 11 Camp over 60 other prospects. Apparently his dad was a former player at the Y.

He committed today to UT - interesting choice as his dad played at BYU but also because he noted that academics, coaching and campus were his top criteria. Not sure how the U fits into these categories compared to the Y but surprising decision nonetheless.

Re: 2013 - Harrison Handley - WR/TE
This commitment only makes sense if he is trying to blaze a different path from his dad, either because he and his did have a troubled relationship and/or he is tired of living in dad's shadow, OR he is not so stable in the gospel/mission plans.
These are the only two reasons I would have chosen the U over BYU coming from a BYU family. Don't like religious environment/honor code or trying to blaze a different trail from dad.
Sounds like a big miss for us. Hopefully he changes his mind.

Presently no mission plans - play 4 years straight. Says dad 100 % behind decision.
