Of the BYU games listed, which is the easiest?
This is probably the last no-brainer poll. I think the discussion might get better after this one.
Here's how the schedule looks from most to least difficult so far:
1. ???

3. ???
4. ???
5. ???
6. ???
7. ???
8. ???
9. ???
10. New Mexico St.
11. Idaho
12. Weber St.

I can see an argument that Hawaii in Provo is about as easy as San Jose St. But I still went with SJSU.

SJSU gave us a LOT more trouble than Hawaii last year, and we were playing at Hawaii. It's the Rainbow Warriors, without a doubt.

SJSU will be better than UH USU and possibly OSU on a neutral field this year. Definitely a tougher game than UH at home.

Yes - and Hawaii had already lost their starting QB. UH usually has depth issues late in the season. We play them earlier this year. Norm Chow knows BYU. His offense seemed to know what to do last year when he was at the U. UH may once again thinking of BYU as a rival. Probably have this game circled. Chow clearly circled the BYU game in 2011.Schmoe wrote:SJSU gave us a LOT more trouble than Hawaii last year, and we were playing at Hawaii. It's the Rainbow Warriors, without a doubt.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.

Yes, but is/was Hawaii sufficiently ashamed by that loss? I need to know how angry they are by that loss. Will winning at BYU be their only means for retribution? Is this game the only standard by which the 2012 season can be judged by Hawaii?Cougarbib2 wrote:Yes - and Hawaii had already lost their starting QB. UH usually has depth issues late in the season. I don't think a first-year head coach gives them a better chance at beating us.Cougarbib2 wrote:Yes - and Hawaii had already lost their starting QB. UH usually has depth issues late in the season. SJSU is better, but Hawaii is more of a rival and now has Norm Chow as a head coach, so I still voted for the Sparties.

I do not think either team has more than a 25% chance of beating us in 2012 on a truly neutral field. Probably less of a chance than even that. Jet lag could affect UH.Schmoe wrote:I don't think a first-year head coach gives them a better chance at beating us.Cougarbib2 wrote:Yes - and Hawaii had already lost their starting QB. Right now UH has me leaning towards them on the next vote.
SJSU probably hangs this poll on a tackling dummy.
