BYUTV should send Stephen Jones to Jenny Aztec's office for a special "On Your Feet" episode. I'm sure they could sell some sponsorship for it.
Bronco could have Ziggy wear number 32 just for the hell of it.
Better yet. Some BYU fans (undercover) could sell white shirts, ties, and bicycle helmets to SDSU fans prior to the game. At half time, they can announce who sold them the stuff, and how much money they raised to be donated to the LDS missionary fund.

I'm not saying spiritual development and missionary work aren't important parts of the job, but as I was telling my dad the other day, if it was primarily about spiritual development, they should make BYU football coaching positions church callings with modest living-expenses stipends...jonnylingo wrote:You are probably right but I do think Bronco uses it as a crutch sometimes. It drives me up the wall! He uses it to try and taunt me I know it!!!!!!hawkwing wrote:I'll bet Bronco understands what his bosses want out of him far better than you do.jonnylingo wrote:or we can let them know who uses their football program as a vehicle to make great church going men out of its players the best. bronco has the edge on that one. with that in mind it doesn't matter much if we win because making football players stand up men is more important than winning football games.byucougar1 wrote:I believe this will be former mentor vs protege. Wasn't too long ago that Long stated he didn't want to play BYU since they left the MWC for Independence. Chance to renew grudge match and let them know who stills rules the roost.

bronco needs to understand his job is to focus on football and to win games. vehicles for spiritual progression are the church, ordinance participation, even byu education, not football program.
You may disagree with what those men think, but that's a different issue.

I seem to recall Bronco saying once that when he was given the job he was told by his superiors that it wasn't about whether BYU won or lost.Mingjai wrote:I'm not saying spiritual development and missionary work aren't important parts of the job, but as I was telling my dad the other day, if it was primarily about spiritual development, they should make BYU football coaching positions church callings with modest living-expenses stipends...jonnylingo wrote:You are probably right but I do think Bronco uses it as a crutch sometimes. I'm sure Bronco got more flack from the board of directors over the late night Halloween burrito run than our recent loss to SJSU.
