I know there's probably an implicit exclusion for referencing the scriptures, because most would then refer to them. That said, and knowing that the following will come accross as preachy, I still want to say the Book of Mormon. I literally do not know where or who I'd be but for that Book. The Book changed my outlook on the Savior, me, my family, my life, my purposes, my future, living prophets and Joseph Smith. It IS, for me, the Book of all Books.

A little pamphlet I found in my Grandpa's basement--"As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen.
A close second is the book "Affluenza"--one of the few books from the left that I felt made me a better person for having read it. When I hear the First Presidency reminders that "[p]latforms and philosophies consistent with gospel principles may be found in most political parties." While I did do a lot of eye-rolling while reading when they addressed global warming etc, the overall message of the book was spot on with gospel teachings about materialism and was presented in an enjoyable format.
Other than those two, I can't think of many outside of religiocentric books that have "transformed" my life, that is, made me make marked changes in my worldview and behavior.

You should give C.J. Box a try, especially his Joe Pickett series. If you like Lee Child and you like the outdoors, you'll love C.J. Box.mizzoucoug wrote:Killing Floor - A Jack Reacher novel

It was Ender's Game. Read it when I was in my early teens and it completely changed the way I saw the world and the power of writing, which is ultimately what steered me into my career.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Good submissions. I would also like to add "Boundaries" to my list. This book tought me that it is okay and even expected to say no, and to not overreach.
