I think Big12 just killed itself ... the refusal to expand will lead to the road to irrelevance.

Words can't describe how disappointed I am right now. I really wanted this to happen. To have the door shut on us again is devastating. How long can Byu survive with the gap between P5's and G5's getting wider and wider. No matter what any of us say Byu is considered a G5 by most. Doesn't matter who we play or who we beat we are on the outside looking in. Not that I want to go back to the MWC but they have more access then Byu. Big12 I hope you crumble down into nothing!

Access to what? That's my question.

An NY6 game? We've played 6 of those already this year.

Money? Still making more than the G5 teams, including the G5 team that plays in the NY6.

Name recognition? BYU's brand is stronger than any G5. Only other one close is Boise. BYU's brand is stronger than more than half of the P5 teams.

Sure, some things would be better in the B12, especially for men's and women's basketball. But Indy is really kind of fun right now.

If there's one thing I've learned through all this, it's this--Cincinnati's new mascot looks like an RSO (registered sex offender).

BYU is fine where it's at. Back to the MWC? No way in Hell. We get enormous respect for being independent. Every game we get with a national power is as good as a NY6 bowl, for excitement and exposure on national TV. It is nonsense to lament a lack of G5 conf championship to play for.

I was confident of one thing: there was no momentum to expand without BYU, and expansion would not go forward without BYU (unless the impossible happened- aTm, Neb, FSU, Clem's).

I'm good with Indie. 8)

I hope that the Big 12 minus 2 schools beat themselves up and none of them make the CFP

Also, BYU and Holmoe are no longer saying that independence is unsustainable. That was before the boosters stepped up big time. Holmoe said that BYU was going to be OK after all, and that was about three months ago already. Yesterday, he said that "Through this process, we learned some things about ourselves..... One thing was that we are a lot stronger than we had thought we were."

Detractors like to bring up Bronco's and TH's previous statements about how BYU will fall farther and farther behind........not sustainable, etc. But, that has changed in a big way, so we as fans should not perpetuate that skepticism.

Don't worry.....Be Happy. 8) 8) 8)

Welcome to the beginning of the end for a myopic grouping of state schools that are foraging and groping for every dollar, including even more with the CCG.
This conference is the worst of the P5 conferences in football and this bullcrap, blah, blah, blah, spin is a waist of time.
Suck eggs Big12. We are done with your "come here, go away" act like you're all that and a bag of chips. You are the small potatoes of the P5 and I hope you get rightly left out of the play off again.
"We are psychologically disadvantaged" before and we still are but better to be rich and meet our diminishing state budgets and be psychologically disadvantaged than to be poorer as schools but stronger as a conference.
