You have to admit the Javelina is a pretty cool mascot (even if it's something that wouldn't make it past some spell checkers)

BYU did get former Utah signee (and SLCC transfer) RB Amone Finau post-mission though.

It’s been a long journey for Finau to get to BYU, who officially announced Wednesday that he has signed with BYU. After signing with Utah back in the 2014 class back when Tuiaki and Sitake were on Utah’s staff, a LDS mission and a stint at Salt Lake Community College delayed his college career.
Four years later, the former 3-star athlete will join his younger brother Sione at BYU, who was a member of BYU’s 2016 recruiting class. Utah re-offered Amone a scholarship this past summer and has been recruiting him, but Amone ultimately decided to go to Provo.
Amone committed to Utah as a running back, but could play multiple positions on either side of the ball. BYU officially lists him as a running back, so it looks like he will start there.

We are lucky to get Amone, he seems like a very smart and articulate young man with a good head on his shoulders and a high football IQ. I'm definitely excited to have him join the team.

For anyone still lauding Sitake's recruiting prowess and the return of the polynesian pipeline:
