BYU has most religious students - U of U not so much

Post by byufan4ever »

The Princeton Review just came out with their top 20 schools with the most religious students:

1. BYU (UT)
2. Thomas Aquina College (CA)
3. Wheaton COllege (IL)
4. Hillsdale College (MI)
5. University of Dallas (TX)
6. Samford University (AL)
7. College of the Ozarks (MO)
8. University of Notre Dame (IN)
9. Grove City College (PA)
10. Baylor University (TX)
11. Furman University (SC)
12. Calvin College (MI)
13. Saint Louis University (MO)
14. United States Air Force Academy (CO)
15. Pepperdine University (CA)
16. Creighton University (16)
17. The Catholic University of America (D.C.)
18. Brandeis University (MA)
19. William Jewell College (MO)
20. Valparaiso University (IN)

Not surprising that BYU is #1 (although we were #2 last year) but no other Utah schools made the list. Doesn't the University of Utah claim to have a great LDS atmosphere when they recruit LDS athletes? What about their great Institute program?? Apparently their own students don't view themselves as being religious.

Note that this is not an opinion of a person or a group of people at The Princeton Review. This list is based on students' answers to the question: "How religious are students at your school?"

It's interesting to see Air Force on the list. In another forum, you would INSTANTLY have cries about separation of church and state. Except for the cut blocks, I love being in a conference with Air Force.

If the yewts take the field and there are no BYU fans to pour beer on, will anybody come?

It depends on what they define as a religion. At some schools football is a religion. :D

There's quite a few schools on there that I've played against in lacrosse, one that I'm surprised is not up there is BIOLA.

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

The fact that Oral Roberts University, Bob Jones University and Liberty University did not make the list shocks me. They are all religious schools, for crying out loud. Who did this survey, anyway? Those schools should all be top-10.

The Princeton Review. And they poll students at the actual universities.
